Simulab Changes Gears!

The Simulab team has decided to base the new simulator on the Flight Gear engine. Paul "Outlaw" Guhl's coding expertise will be very handy with stripping the Flight Gear code if needed, and rewriting to suit.

Advancing On The Terrain And Flight Model Fronts

Paul "Outlaw" Guhl is making great progress on the terrain editor for Simulab. According to that site "Updating the tile in real-time and viewing tiles in different dimensions is now available. The next release will be even more powerful then the Terra release!"
Visit the Simulab site for more details.

On the Target For Today front, Simon "Bomber" is getting right into the calculation and creation of flight models. It's quite advanced stuff, but he has it all under control. Check out the Target For Today site for more details.

Simulab Testing Release Available

The Simulab team has released the "Simulab Release Terra" version of the engine. This is another bare bones version of the engine, but with enough working parts that we can get our hands in it and see how it works!

New Tutorial Section Added

I've added a new index to the Tutorials Section. The Internal Component Tutorials will deal with the interior items of an aircraft that require textures. For now there is one part of an instrument mini-series available, look for the rest of this series soon.

Target For Today Selects A New Sim Engine

The Target For Today team has decided to pursue development with a new simulation engine called Simulab. This engine seems very promising and the developer is intent on making multi-crew aircraft possible. This is a crucial component of a bomber simulation, allowing multiple players to crew the various stations of an aircraft together.
